Youngest NBA player to score 20,000 points

At 28 years and 17 days old, LEBRON JAMES was hailed as the youngest basketball player in NBA history to score 20 thousand points on Wednesday. He accomplished the milestone when he scored 25 points in Miami’s 92-75 win over Golden State.

His jump shot with 2:45 remaining in the second quarter gave him 20,001 career points. He came into the contest needing 18 points to become the 38th player in NBA history to reach the mark.

The previous youngest to reach the 20,000-point mark was Lakers star Kobe Bryant, who got there when he was 29 years, 122 days old.

James reached the 20,000-point  in his 726th regular-season game .


During  the first quarter James pass on to Dwyane Wade for a dunk.  This assist gave James his  5,000 career points,  a mark he said he was equally proud of.

James became the 13th player in the NBA history with 20,000 points and 5,000 assists.

James said his accomplishment  means everything.  It means he’s  healthy;  able to be out there on the floor and also his teammates have allowed him  to get to this milestone

“Twenty-thousand points is big-time,” James said. “I know the list is small and I’m humbled by it, but also 5,000 assists means a lot as well because I’ve had some good teammates over the years and I appreciate every single one of them.”

Comment :  Lebron James’ life is worth emulating.  Amidst hardship he struggled to improve his life. Born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio he was raised by his mother Gloria Marie James alone.  He used sports as an outlet to take out his frustrations, favoring basketball and football.

James has two children, first, LeBron James Jr. Born on Oct 6, 2004 and the second, Bryce Maximus James on June 14, 2007 with his high school sweetheart, Savannah Brinson.  They currently reside in Coconut Grove, a Miami suburb, where James bought a 3-story mansion overlooking Biscayne Bay for $9 million

He hosted the 33rd season premiere of Saturday Night Live. The show’s creator Lorne Michaels praised him for his versatility.  In 2010 he was ranked by Forbes as the second most influential athlete behind Lance Armstrong.  As a result of his endorsement money and NBA salary, James is listed as one of the world’s highest-paid athletes.
